*Brett Favre suffered a shoulder injury on Monday night but it is not
considered serious. He has so far been unable to practice, but says he
will be able to start Sunday.
*Reports out of Green Bay state that Vernand Morency may get the start
in place of injured Ahman Green.
*Ahman Green strained his hamstring in practice on Thursday and will be
questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions. If he can't go, look for
Noah Herron to get the start and Vernand Morency to come off the bench. It's all
up in the air right now, but if you have room on your roster, Herron
might be a nice addition in the short term.
*Acquired Vernand Morency from the Houston
Texans. Morency shows great promise, but if week 1 is a good
barometer, he has a long way to go. Unfortunately for him, the
offensive line situation does not get much better and he'll be
further down the bench. Ahman Green remains the starter and
should see the majority of work with Noah Harron coming in
periodically. This trade actually speaks volumes to the
Packers faith in Herron to take over full time should Green go down
with injury.
*Koren Robinson has been signed to a 2 year deal. At this point,
the plan is to have him return punts. Quite possibly while drunk.
The Packers will lose quite a bit this season, I guess this move is designed to
keep fans entertained and give Brett a drinking buddy he seems to need.
Ok, that was a little harsh, but I don't like this move from the Packers
perspective. Robinson is a man who was pulled over for DUI while driving
to court. This is probably not someone to invest money in.
*Greg Jennings has been named the starting receiver in Green Bay.
We told you it would happen by midseason. This kid has a TON of talent and
by early next year should have people forgetting Javon Walker. Grab this
kid if you can, he'll be worth it.
*Even though Greg Jennings may not be listed as a starter on the opening
day roster, expect him to get into the action quickly and possibly start by mid
season. Favre loves to use multiple receivers, and with this kid's talent
(he was compared to Marvin Harrison) he's going to get a lot of work. A
nice sleeper that not many in your league know about.
*Ahman Green claims to have no ill effects from playing Monday night.
He is scheduled to be the starter in Green Bay. Move him up a few notches
on the draft board.
*Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Favre were out last night in Cincinnati. Favre
looked awful trying to complete passes downfield and in the flat to his
backs. The running game was practically none existent. Do
not build your franchise around Ahman Green this year.
*The Packers receiver coach is comparing Greg Jennings to Marvin
Harrison at this stage of development. Needless to say, this
is a guy you want to know about, especially in dynasty leagues.
The thing to watch most closely in the Monday night game is the health
of Green Bay's running backs. Ahman Green will get the
start.
*Ahman
Green returns to the field for the first time since tearing his quad
against the Lions last season. Green is the frontrunner for the
starting RB job, so keep a close eye on him.
*They looked much better against Atlanta than they did against San
Diego. Donald Driver is unquestionably the favorite target, although you
never know with Favre who will be the end zone target. Anyone who may have
panicked after last week can relax a little. This team still does not win
6 games. But on the plus side, they'll trail a lot and have to throw.
*Billy Cundiff was
released. Dave Rayner is the only kicker currently on the roster.
Bad offense. Stay away from this kicking situation.
*absolutely insane. The Packers drew over 60,000 fans for a
scrimmage last week. Favre was said to be sharp, along with Donald
Driver. Greg Jennings contributed nicely as the #2 receiver.
*Ahman Green is supposed to be ready for week1, but will most most of
camp. Don't forget that when he was injured with the torn
quadriceps tendon, many thought it was career threatening. Don't
forget about Noah Herron who has been taking reps as the starting back
and drawing praise. Gado fell out of favor because of his tendency
to fumble. *Donald
Driver is clearly the #1 receiver, but the jury is way out on who will
be #2. Robert Ferguson, Rod Gardener and Marc Boerigter are all
competing.
*Sam Gado is falling behind Noah Herron on the Green bay depth chart.
Stay clear of this situation, or at least don't rely on it for any of
your first 3 back positions.
