Cleveland Browns
*Reuben Droughns complained of additional pain in his shoulder after the Raiders game. He will be evaluated this week. He is listed as questionable for the game in Carolina.
*Droughns will be inactive for the game against the Ravens.
*Reports of Droughns losing goal line work seem to have been exaggerated, but his production will remain low all season.
*Just a heads up that Reuben Droughns seems to have been replaced as the short yardage back in the Brown's offense, making him less valuable. Rookie Lawrence Vickers will take on short yardage work and might be worth picking up in TD leagues or large leagues where you need a back. Kellen Winslow seems to be the one the Browns are looking for in the red zone, though.
*Braylon Edwards will play on Sunday, but will probably not get the start. Edwards is one of those guys with a huge upside but terrifying downside. A nice receiver to add to a deep bench, but don't count too heavily.
*Braylon Edwards looked good against Buffalo and even absorbed a few big hits. He is suffering no ill effects of the surgery and looks to be ready to go week 1.
*Reports are that Braylon Edwards is ready to return. Move him up your draft lists as an excellent sleeper. We're still very concerned about this offense because of the problems they're having at center.
*Bad to worse in Cleveland. They've lost their second center of the off season to injury. We've said all along that the center is a valuable position to both the running and passing game. With Frye struggling already, this is not news he needed.
*Things are starting to look like Braylon Edwards might be available sooner than first thought. Word is that he may be available from day 1. Downgrade Jurevicius for more reasons than Charlie Frye.
*Charlie Frye is reportedly struggling in practice...against the backups. Romeo Crennel had the starters play against 2nd and 3rd teamers to try to gain some confidence and it seems to have backfired. Report is that during this scrimmage, Frye has a 26.7 qb rating. Do not draft Frye, and be wary of any other Browns.
*Kellen Winslow, Jr. is admitting that his injury last year was worse than had been reported. His leg must have been completely removed, because I seem to recall reading that the injury was very bad. He says he'll probably never be 100% again, but can get back to 90 of where he was. This guy could have been something special. And he just had to do something stupid. Regardless, if he can survive preseason, he'll most likely emerge as the top target of Charlie Frye. Don't forget about Winslow on draft day.
*With Edwards out until mid-season, there is talk that Winslow, Jr. will line up as a wideout with Steve Heiden as the tight end. Heiden reportedly will also line up in 2 TE sets with KW2. get ready for this: Joe Jurevicius becomes your #1 receiver on this team until Edwards returns.
*Braylon Edwards has been able to run at full speed, but is not cutting yet. He is still on pace for an October return.
*Keep Kellen Winslow, Jr. on your radar. he has been running at full speed in practice.
*Reuben Droughns has apologized for being arrested for assaulting his wife. He says he is sorry he embarrassed the team by bringing negative attention.
