How to win a suicide pool...

Some simple guidelines that should at least keep you alive a few weeks

1. The home team usually wins.  Never take a team on the road unless you absolutely have to.

2. Don't overlook the value of the team with the better defense.  A very good defensive team always has a shot because they tend to stay in games.

3. Avoid Sunday and Monday night games.  Strange things happen, especially on Monday nights.  You're better off finding a nice, forgiving Sunday afternoon game.

4. Don't go with your heart.  Sure you're a Cowboys fan.  But is there a better match up somewhere else?

5. Don't look to get ahead by picking mediocre teams early.  Pick the sure thing and hope that a team like Arizona can turn it on late in the season and be good for a win.  Remember that you won't win next week if you don't win this week.

6. Always bet against the expansion team in their first game.  Except Houston 2 years ago.  Trust me.  But I violated 2 rules picking Dallas in that one.

7. Check in with 411 Fantasy Football for our picks.  Our guys know what they're doing.  If we don't mention a game you're looking at, send us an email for our opinion.  We're here to help.

Good Luck!
